Seb Rochford’s trailblazing jazz outfit Polar Bear return to the Leaf Label with 'Same As You', marking a year since their long-awaited return with 'In Each and Every One', the follow-up to 2010’s critically-acclaimed album ‘Peepers’. Whilst the last full-length traversed a characteristically wide range of influences, this one has more of a sharp focus, yet the band still manage to maintain the playful experimentation on which they have made their name. 'Life Love and Light' opens the LP with an inspiring spoken word piece delivered by Asa Mikael, owner of Jamaican cultural institution The Light Shop. The rest of the LP is filled with drums and saxophone interactions, sweeping electronic preludes and melodic hooks. 'Unrelenting Unconditional' closes things off, a twenty-minute track of modern African-Caribbean folk music.
