Not satisfied with tearing holes in bass bins left, right, and centre, with the colossal ‘Swarm’, Mensah Anderson is back on Lobster Boy with four brand new tracks under his New York Transit Authority alias. Title track ‘Brooklyn Underground’ sets the scene, with waves crushing 808 rhythms that come on like Addison Groove going toe-to-toe with Kraftwerk. ‘Dinner & Corsica’ and ‘Make It Happen’ raise the tempo, adding some 303 squelch and Afro-beat percussion to a deep and murky house vibe, before ‘Watching’ returns to that menacing half-speed swagger, this time augmented by Burial-esque vocals from Harper Lake.
