LA post-punk duo Taylor Burch and Joe Cocherell aka DVA Damas resurface with their second EP on Downwards America - the American imprint of the longrunning Birmingham label, headed by Silent Servant’s Juan Mendez since its foundation in 2013. Burch and Cocherell offer their very special take on techno beats made from cheap drum machines. Their sliding guitar evokes images of empty towns in the American Old West, their echoing sound effects galloping horses, their accessory, distant vocals the ghosts that never left. There’s a subtle atmosphere of dangerous suspense in the dusty air.
