Right off the back of two of the best L.I.E.S additions yet, French producer Voiski lands on the hotly tipped Sheik N Beik with the Spotlight Diktat EP – the second release on the imprint. Born out of the sense of isolation and melancholy experienced as a travelling DJ, both cuts pit the rhythm of the ‘floor against more somber melodies. The mood is charged on A-sider ‘Ode To A Model’, where constantly mutating, electrified chords crawl all over a crisp percussive rig, followed by the similarly introspective ‘A Sad Party’, which boasts a lonely, niggling note and big, muscled toms.
