Grime golden boy Royal T is back on Butterz with some militant moves on his latest Shotta EP. The title cut soundtracks a massacre; car alarms ringin’, guns-a-poppin’, bullet’s-a-flyin’, all laid over panic stricken string stabs, a pneumatic drum set and P Money’s fiery chorus. Prepare to hit the deck when this one drops. On the flip, ‘Limbo’ is much easier on the ears, keeping the tempo ticking with its streamlined 4/4 bounce and pitch-shifting vocal clips, whereas ‘Glacial (Angel Mix)’ flirts between dewy-eyed, oriental inspired, new-age scenes and more violent tweaked synth notes, cleverly resisting the urge to drop a heavy drum-beat the whole time.
