Copenhagen industrial duo Christian Stadsgaard and Loke Rahbek aka Damien Dubrovnik follow up their 2013 album First Burning Attraction with Vegas Fountain, their new full-length for Helm’s Alter label. A joint release with Rahbek’s and Stadsgaard’s own quality imprint Posh Isolation, Vegas Fountain sonically explores concepts of relations, performance, sexuality and their breaking points - accordingly embodied in the overwhelming power of the album’s opener, ‘On Its Double’. Words couldn’t describe the pure agitation their ultra-high frequency drones evoke, the tension the distorted voice sending desperate messages from the other side builds over the almost eleven minutes of the track. The album feels like one coherent piece, in which the duo once again skilfully play with density as white noise and said drones shine through their arrangements, the sparse, metallic percussion creating the fearful unexpectedness that make their compositions what they are.
