Following on from the 2014 EP Your Charizmatic Self, the Night Slugs label founder teams up with Keyboardist Sweyn Jupiter to produce a lush double A-side of funky keys and bass. With previous releases seeing Bok Bok work with vocalist and producer Kelela, the south London producer continues his smooth blend of R&B, Grime, house and techno to form a seamless mutation of bass night bangers. ‘Papaya Lipgloss (Club Mix)’ brings to the release some steady 4/4 beats before calling in the clap, clicks and Jupiter’s syncopated rhythms whilst ‘Papaya Lipgloss (Sour Mix)’ surges some weightless grime into the fold, adding a darker and somewhat more alluring version of these two bass-heavy collisions.
