Eight years after the foundation of their label, Ilian Tape bosses Dario and Marco Zenker release their debut album as the Zenker Brothers on their Munich imprint. Following an impressive number of solo releases and a handful of EPs as a duo, this first joint effort in full-length feels like it was more than worth the wait – combining the broken beats and straggling percussion of their previous work with a rugged, contemporary production aesthetic. There’s an element of Detroit in their synth chords, yet the rebellious basslines and bare rhythmics place it right at the heart of Munich’s techno underground.
