South London’s Henry Wu offers up his most extensive piece of work to date with this five track EP for the folks at ho_tep Records. His off-centre brand of laid-back nu-jazz shines through effortlessly on the opening couple of cuts where his productions sound reminiscent of some of Theo Parrish’s most bewitching compositions. More floor-facing territory is entered on Black Rigsby and Just Negotiate where the bass plays in to a airtight beat. The unhurried vibes are reignited again on the closer where Wu proves his worth as a multi-talented composer and producer.
