Francois (the head of this outfit) has always had an admiration and obsession with music from Africa. In the summer of 2013, he went with his band to the continent and recorded this unique EP across Ethopia, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Benin. There’s a genuine sense of spontaneity and excitement running through the tracks. Francois’ floaty vocals hovering on top of the worldly sounds. Ayan Filé actually tells the story of European traveller daydreaming about an African journey. This sense of wonderment and awe seeps through every song on this release.
