MGMT (aka Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser) shot to superstardom with the 2008 debut Oracular Spectacular. Their sound has always been one that has confused and delighted fans in equal measure. For their Late Night Tales offering they reflected a basic ethos of counter-culturalism which led to a stellar tracklist. Cuts from The Velvet Underground, Suicide and Julian Cope sit alongside deep cuts from Disco Inferno and Bauhaus covers from the duo themselves. The patchwork nature of this mix is typical of an outfit who are impossible to fully pin down.
