Ben Vince returns from a six year absence with a new LP on AD93 entitled Street Druid. Built up mainly from acoustic and electronically treated recordings, Vince layers his singular saxophone playing here with synths, voice chops, drum machines, and some nimble playing from guest drummer Moses Boyd. Street Druid is a psychedelic exercise in genre fluidity, as exemplified by the contrast between the placid, wavelike currents of ‘Deepbluereflection’ and the more turbulent, almost techno-inspired early single ‘(Ride A) Wave’.
