Italian duo Mind Against and Belgian producer Locked Groove team up for a 12" of big room techno for Scuba’s Hotflush imprint. With Locked Groove’s first release for the label dating back to three years ago, he’s no stranger to the catalogue, whereas Alex Fognini and Federico Fognini’s work has been housed at Rome’s Life And Death so far. The two-piece EP combines Mind Against’s emotional melodies with Locked Groove’s gallant dance floor aesthetics. On Elysium this takes shape as spurring drums and a climax of shimmering synth anecdotes. The B-side follows a similarly constructing arc of suspense, the glitchy synths and the driving kick drum creating an aquiver atmosphere.
