The Metroplex label follows up the beloved Classics comp from Juan Atkins’ Model 500 alias with a second deep dive into the Detroit techno architect’s vaults. This second volume picks up largely where its counterpart left off, exploring some of the harder, clubbier tracks in the Model 500 catalogue while also showing off the project’s deep range. 1992 heater ‘Jazz Is The Teacher’ kicks things off with bang, all head knocking kicks and laser synths, but Vol. 2 also offers more alien textures like the slow and sensual funk of ‘Ocean 2 Ocean’.
