Leeds-based experimental quintet Vessels stretch their vision even further on Dilate with their first real foray in to the possibilities of electronic instrumentation. Their sprawling brand of post-rock has been twinned with a carefully placed selection of synthesised sounds to create 9 compositions that evoke the majesty of Explosions In The Sky alongside the delicate electronic tinkering of Aphex’s more ambient outings. From gentle moments like As You Are to weightier demonstrations of prowess like Glass Lake, this is a new sonic palette executed brilliantly.
