L.I.E.S. accomplice Florian Kupfer drops a killer five track EP of tough, dusty house jams on William Thomas Burnett’s W.T. Records. The past couple of years have seen the German producer emerge as one of the more exciting new talents – he’s got an excellent track record to show, with a handful of style-defining EPs for the aforementioned Long Island Electrical Systems as well as a split with Vereker on Russian Torrent Versions. In following his groovy overdrive effect approach, WT 21 manages to keep up the high standards he so prematurely established. The stomping acid sounds and the energetic spoken word sample of ‘Discotag’ contrast the dreamful mallet and electric piano synths, floating away in reverb on ‘I Feel You’ and ‘Lemming’. It's their trance-inducing effect that proves Kupfer’s productions have been advancing in the department of ambience.
