Itoa brings the heat with some DnB-laced rhythms on the French Cola EP. The title track is a cocktail of rhythm and genre with breakbeat syncopations rumbling beneath a dancehall blueprint. Then comes the irresistible simplicity of Top Deck which gets the remix treatment from Moresounds and She’s Drunk before Touchy Subject takes on French Cola and takes it to a subcontinent of grime and archetypal UK rave music. While DnB remains firmly at the core of this release, the breakneck speed works as a nucleus for Itoa to explore a world of possibilities.
