South London producer Dauwd Brooklyn steps up for remix duties for Brooklyn duo and Ghostly International label mates Beacon. Taken from last year’s L1 EP, Fault Lines showcases the duo’s minimal, yet colourful production approach. Glistening, fine arpeggios, delicate vocals and surprising harmonic progressions, gently driven by a palpitant beat. Dauwd plays with the distinctive pushing effect of the bass, but embeds the idea into a more stable rhythmical framework, with distortion and reverb compressing its overall atmosphere.
