Following up on 2011’s Indeed, experimentalists Ambarchi and O’Rourke return to Editions Mego for Behold, a double header of side-long compositions exploring acoustic sounds, field recordings, guitar work, electronics and percussion. The stark style of composition on show throughout both pieces is totally beguiling. Blending the tropes of krautrock, minimalism and ambient soundscaping, the duo manage to create two pieces of music that create entire atmospheres. While at times chaotic, there is an order and sequence to Behold which makes it a truly singular achievement.
