Detroit’s underground (and criminally underrated) mainstay DJ Bone initiates his new DIFFER-Ent alias with a debut release on the London-based Don't Be Afraid. On his own Subject Detroit imprint, Bone has amassed a sizeable discography of fully functional, tough yet often touchingly melodic releases that are worth their weight in gold to DJ’s; his DBA debut follows the same path. On the A-side find the dry, palpitating, futuristic excursion ‘Differ-ent (Hrall)’ whereas the B-side hosts ‘Differ-ent(Ity)’ – a much tougher assembly with an almighty kick that’s been calibrated for the 5am basement-dwellers.
