Jean Pierre Decerf had a thematic obsession to all things extraterrestrial. His self-taught musicianship and off-the-wall compositional style was overlooked by many of his contemporaries. His work - by and large - looked set to get lost in the chronicles of micro-scenes from bygone years. Born Bad Records had other ideas. First time round, much of Decerf’s work consisted of production and library music with uninvolving artwork and run-of-the-mill titles. The team and Born Bad have collected a cluster of his pieces and put them together on this fittingly neon-lacquered compendium. Trampolining between bizarro vaudevillian soundtracking music to retrofuturistic opuses of synth, this is Jean-Pierre Decerf’s unaffected journey in to the unknown.
