Youuu + Mee = Weee marks the first recorded collaboration between Charlemagne Palestine and Rhys Chatham. It also marks the latest instalment of Sub Rosa's collaboration series. Palestine explores the use of piano Bösendorfer, orgue Yamaha and Rhys Chatham the use of trumpet, loop pedal, electric guitar. The results are as beguiling and bewildering as you might expect. As a meeting of the minds, Chatham grew up tuning pianos for the heavyweights of the classical avant-garde, this is mixed with the ritualistic, droning compositional tendencies of Palestine for a release of symphonic ambience and left-field sonic exploration.
