Carter Tutti Plays Chris & Cosey is the culmination of a series of live shows of the same name, in which Throbbing Gristle founders Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti, now operating as Carter Tutti, have reinterpreted and reworked classic songs from their previous incarnation as Chris & Cosey. Exploiting the current resurgence of analogue synth-driven electro pop, the tracks in this collection are a brilliantly realised tribute to the post-punk and electronica of the late-eighties and early-nineties. The often intense and claustrophobic soundscapes of tracks such as ‘BeatBeatBeat ‘ and ‘Sin’ are balanced perfectly by Fanni Tutti’s sparkling, ethereal vocals, while the more uplifting vibes of ‘Lost Bliss’ are testament to the pair’s song writing chops. A perfect collectors’ piece, each format contains an exclusive bonus remix.
