Long sold out on vinyl, Partisan Records is finally repressing the debut LP from Brooklyn dream pop combo Cigarettes After Sex. A welcomed return after the stir caused by Greg Gonzalez’s 2012 I. EP, built from nothing more than silver-y guitar strands, a minimalist drum kit, and the mere suggestion of bass, Cigarettes After Sex get a lot across using very little sound. ‘K.’ and ‘Apocalypse’ paint Gonzalez as a sensitive lover, but the more risqué couplets on the closing ‘Young & Dumb’ playfully blur that line.
