Boddika lines up a debut release on his Nonplus Records imprint with Italian producer Federico Maccherone aka Somne. Spread across four sides of vinyl, the Millennium EP is a journey into the darker regions of deep, dub-heavy house and techno, starting with hypnotic bass rolls of the title cut that can be assimilated to the excellent Giegling Staub series, then slower, more sinister moods on ‘Treppendorf’. A sturdy broken beat and eerie melody draws us in on ‘Tank’ whilst ‘Nearer’ builds a more clouded atmosphere from its rolling industrial blows and thick, foggy interference.
