Antoni Maiovvi has shown an ability through all his work to set a scene but also to tear a scene to shreds. Avrokosm is no exception. The cinematic qualities of Ignite are juxtaposed brilliantly by the slightly more floor-facing simmer of Road Worn. Like the artwork suggests, there’s a distinct feeling of the great unknown in these compositions. Closer, Afternoon Youth embodies this most with a neo-classical ambience eventually giving way to an eerie pad motif that feels a little too close for comfort. Avrokosm is the kind of layered release where new auditory treasures will unearth on every listen.
