The fifth album from The Kinks really is Something Else. Following the criticallu lauded Face to Face, Something Else saw Ray Davies take a more central role in the band's production, and the band opted for a quieter approach than many of their contemporaries in the tempestuous year of 1967. Ray's brother Dave also took a greater role in the song-writing and the results are just as essential. From the timeless 'Waterloo Sunset' to the bluesy rock of 'Love Me Till the Sun Shines', these are perfectly formed pop songs that bristle with wit and musicianship.
