Bleep

II is the second full-length release from St. Albans-based musician Wax Stag. Since his first LP, he’s spent time on the road as a session musician with more established indie-pop outfits. It would appear that this skill for musicianship as a craft is what drives his sound. There’s a simplicity to II, a sense of repetition and perfection throughout the tracks. This blueprint is exercised on Summit where a number of different melodies and hooks hover around a beat dipping in and out of earshot. The focus is on melody and execution and the finished product is a glowing bulb of alternative dance.
