Midwest techno giant John Beltran returns to the Oathcreations label (this time under his Placid Angels moniker) for a new LP of techno masterclasses entitled Canada. Written in tribute to the beautiful frozen tundra of the land’s most remote areas, Beltran treats the LP like a survey of classic Placid Angels moves. You’ll find soothing ambience and snowdrift-like cascading sounds on the positively tranquil title track, while the Tom VR feature ‘Tides Alternate’ adds jazzy drum breaks to the precipitous mix to approximate some environmentally rich drum and bass.
