Shackleton’s recent movements with AD 93 have resulted in thrilling collaborations with Holy Tongue and Marlene Ribeiro, and now his first solo LP for the label constructs an endearingly weird world where his inexhaustible variety of dubbed out corkscrewing hand drums turns the dancefloor into a gooey swamp. Euphoria Bound is exactly as its title implies: hurtling towards transcendence with wildly free approaches to rhythm as tracks are dismantled, shattered, and then injected with ghostly melody and swirling psychedelia. Musicultural artefacts become progressively more amorphous as Shackleton twists them with bass wobbles and drilling acid squelches in these sonic adventures.
