Amsterdam based producer Officer John makes his debut (and possible finale) on Wah Wah Wino with a deliciously titled 12” called The Return of Officer John. Staking a claim somewhere between the gale force guitar mangling of classic shoegaze and the baggy beatification of classic Madchester, these tracks are equally suited for the indie clubs or the afters sesh back at the flat. The tender ‘Handle’ is a torch song for the ages, while ‘Awake’ adds some red-eyed low end to the equation to nice effect. Morgan Buckley tacks on a choice remix as well.
