Mostly made by Andrew Savage and Austin Brown of Parquet Courts, the pair have adopted the Parkay Quartz moniker for this rough-and-ready long player. Recorded, mixed and mastered on a 4-track tape machine over the space of a fortnight, there’s a sense of haphazard post-punk speediness to Content Nausea that is hard to resist. From the unromantic streetwise lyricism of Uncast Shadow of a Southern Myth to the unforgiving rumble of The Map, this is the Parquet Courts worldview manifested once again.
