London-based imprint Young Turks reflects on an incredible 2014 and compiles some of their highlights on the simply titled Young Turks 2014. The collection highlights the diversity and breadth of the imprint, with the touchingly beautiful, piano piece ‘Too Much’ from Sampha happily rubbing shoulders with muffled funk of SBTRKT’s ‘NEW DORP. NEW YORK’ and the intensified scattergun beats of ‘Break A Mirrored Leg’ from Quirke. Jamie XX’s smudgy slice of lucid dream pop ‘Girl’ also makes an appearance, alongside the anthemic ‘Two Weeks’ from 2014 show-stealer FKA Twigs. Additionally, the deluxe vinyl LP version comes with a suite of alternative, unreleased takes and rarities.
