Following on from his cassette outing in 2010, Anthony Orion aka Swanox has brought his winning brand of vacant road trip anthems to this full length effort for Not Not Fun. Tracks like Tomorrow’s City and Count The Streetlights exercise a unique capability for guitar-led Americana indebted lullabies that sound just as warm and reassuring as they do unsettlingly abandoned. The title track is a 3 minute wolf cry wherein blissfully wandering vocals shoot from beneath a burned out string melody. The record manages to sound almost exhilarating in it’s loneliness; tobacco stained cradle songs that are truly built to last.
