Originally made famous as the spine of Run DMC’s ‘Peter Piper’, the unmistakable cow-bell funk of ‘Mardi Gras’ has been cut and spliced by everyone from Rick Rubin and Mantronix to Pete Rock and RZA. Originally released in 1975, this is the first official reissue of the seminal Italian version, in which those genre-defining drums are pushed slightly higher up in the mix.
