This pair of Afro-centric cuts from young Ninja Tune producer Romare are marvellously nontypical cocktails of genre and background. With a definite leaning towards the more patchwork collage style of production embodied by the likes of Jai Paul, Romare manages to bring together a world of sounds on Pusherman having loaded up a rumbling beat for Roots. The title track is an anthem-in-waiting that employs simplicity in the best way possible.
