Breathing new life in to a ’95 wax classic, Jack For Daze and parent label Clone have reissued three tracks from Roy Davis Jr’s original release and handed us a reminder of their brilliance. From the Chicago-indebted crunch of Chemical Warfare to the more straightforward pulsations of Jack Da Rhythms, there are moments where all the guns in his arsenal are employed and moments where he strips it back to the bare bones. This is a chance to reassess the work of a largely overlooked house pioneer.
