Berlin institution Tresor collates a collection of tracks for an EP release from Detroit electro / techno demigods Drexciya with the Digital Tsunami EP. The opening title cut, actually taken from the 2002 LP Harnessed The Storm, is the Detroit outfit at full throttle with the brutal electro charge dragging us deep down below water. Following on, ‘Aquatic Cataclysm’ reduces the sound to a deadly boom / click combination with a barrage of sinister synth chords doing the damage up top whilst ‘Plankton Organization’ is another alien-esque construction of crunching electro percussion. Lastly, the timeless EP closes with the fitting emotional piece ‘Birth Of New Life’, where the grooving bassline, shuffling percussion and wistful synth notes are likely to bring a tear to one’s eye.
