Dutch bass music producer Gijs Snik aka Proxima returns to Tempa Records with his full-length debut. Following a handful of outings for the London imprint in 2012 and a couple of drum'n'bass releases for Shogun Audio, Alpha sees Snik refining his dark deconstrutions of 140 bpm club music. Throughout the album his dangerously sharp percussive elements cut through the bellied bass notes and poignant synths. Snik experiments with pitch-bended vocals and otherworldly sound effects. Proxima's cousin, Shogun Audio boss Icicle, makes an appearance on the evocative 'Redshifted', other collaborators include Dnae, LTJ-Bukem MC DRS and UK grime producer P. Money.
