Since their inception, the Brixton based Aesop imprint has become a humble residence for independent producers and artists with an audible DIY ethos. New duo Sylas are no exception- from the barbed vocal of Hollow to the steady pathos of the title track, the songs are smartly written and carefully produced to flourish as crossover hits that stick in the head even with their decidedly unlit undertones. As an opening offering, Sylas come through as serious leading lights for the year ahead.
