As well as becoming a fitting strap-line for Mills’ entire career, A Man From Tomorrow is the name of the latest film by Jacqueline Caux, a French director who has touched on Detroit royalty before with 2007’s The Cycles Of The Mental Machine. Man From Tomorrow is an impressionistic profile piece on Mills that explores the key themes and idiosyncrasies of his work. The first act of the film is devoid of dialogue and shows a range of images against this score before act two takes the viewer through Caux’s interview with the man himself. The original score is by Mills and perfectly demonstrates the futuristic cosmos his work embodies.
