UK label Domino collects some of the most important works of Soft Machine founding member and evergreen solo artist Robert Wyatt. The aptly named Different Every Time is made up of two halves: the first, 'Ex Machina', covers work from throughout his solo career, from the studio and the stage; 'Benign Dictatorships', meanwhile, contains his essential collaborations and guest appearances alongside rarities never released before. Pop stars like Hot Chip and Bjork feature here, as well as Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera and composer Mike Mantler, in a thrilling introduction to an essential part of the British musical landscape through the late 20th Century and beyond.
