New York rap royalty Wiki celebrates 10 years of independence with this reissue of his debut mixtape Lil Me on his own Wikset Enterprise imprint. Fresh from the split of Ratking, Wiki threw himself a proper, cross-continental coming out party here that finds room for underground heroes to shine from New York to Detroit to Montreal to London. There’s palpable joy listening to Wiki skip nimbly across footwork beats from Sporting Life and trade barbs with personal heroes like Skepta, but it’s the vividly stoned storytelling (complete with the head knocking Kaytranada beat) of ‘3 Stories’ that really points to where he would head next.
