Maintaining their reputation as a house for alternative music’s more intriguing acts, No Pain In Pop introduce us to 18 year old London symphonist Jire. With an Aphex-like affinity for guttering compositions and neo-classical minimalism, cuts like Materiality Notion and Kiowa Polytope expose us to Jire’s slightly misshapen take on electronic structuring. Tribal percussion, industrial scratches and a general feeling of freeform improvisation, Kiowa Polytope is a remarkably assured first effort from this producer and an extremely engrossing release in it’s own right.
