Proceeding from the incredible The Isolated Rhythms of…, mysterious Arctic producer Ukkonen reappears on Uncharted Audio with his multi-referencing sound in the form of a limited 10” entitled Change Time. Drawing on fragments of ambient, modern classical and Detroit, the EP’s centerpiece ‘First Lunation’ whisks us away on an epic, dewy-eyed journey filled with icy melodies and tempered drum programming. Crisp hi-hats and frosty stabs on ‘Tonal Syzygy’ evoke the producer’s frigid surrounds whilst ‘Agogic Helia’ is a gliching arrangement of post electronica. Finally, title cut ‘Change Time’ wraps up the incredible EP with a casual downbeat groove that gently pulses and shines with a rich organic glow.
