Genres

New York composer Chantal Michelle makes her label debut on Shelter Press with All Things Might Spill. Trained in multiple art disciplines including dance, sound installation, and glassblowing, her work often possesses a sense of scale, movement, and tacticity unique to this sphere of experimental electronica, and is often accompanied by multimedia enrichment. All Things Must Spill then feels like a distillation of all these strands, bringing a hardened focus to these wonderfully rendered sound biomes. Tracks like the stripped-down ‘The Stream’ pack entire worlds in a few mournful string stabs and some roomy delay while the title track brings chills with what sounds like field recordings of a blizzard and some choirlike ambient pads.

  • Long awaited debut album by Chantal Michelle
  • Featuring contributions by Alma Laprida, Severin Black, Alliyah Enyo
  • Artwork on printed inner and outer sleeves by the acclaimed contemporary artist Lotus L. Kang
  • High quality pressing, mastered by Stephan Mathieu and cut at Schnittstelle Mastering.
