Alessandro Cortini is best known for his work as part of Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails, and more recently his Sonno release on Dominick Fernow's Hospital Productions. Going deeper into the realms of techno, he adopts the Skarn moniker for Shifted's Avian imprint. 'Revolver' is a simple bassy pattern over flittering percussion, growling, modulated noise coming in and out of the mix throughout the track's hypnotic 10 minutes. 'Antipaste' follows a similar pattern, droning industry threatening to take over yet always being kept in check. 'Sandy', finally, maintains the release's continuity of sound, allowing patterns of noise to flutter and grow.
