German DJ monolith Sven Väth celebrates his 50th birthday with a remix retrospective of two of his early career classics. He entrusts two Berlin duos with the reinterpretation task: first up are Ame who Väth has been supporting with gigs in Frankfurt’s Cocoon club and by playing their productions since the start of their young career. Moving away from their characteristic deep house approach, Ame infuse elements of minimal and progressive house into Väth’s ‘L’esperanza’, and finish it off with trancy strings. Tuff City Kids on the other hand bank on present 909 drums and hypnotically circling synth works, bridging the remix with the original’s techno heritage.
