After building a cult following through a series of self-released mix tapes and a heavily sought after 7”, shadowy visual artist duo 18+ drop their debut LP Trust on Fabric’s Houndstooth imprint. Compiling both new and renovated material from their first three mixtapes, the LA/NYC duo chisel out their own sound from icy electronics and stark hooks sweetened by minimalistic vocals; leading off with the arctic glimmers of ‘All The Time’ and ‘Club God’ which offers little more than a frosty wind drone paired against a brittle clap. The sickeningly catchy ‘Crow’ taken from the 2013 7” also features, with its looped cawing and inch-perfect finger snaps still as infectious as ever whilst the aching strings and desperate vocals on ‘Son’ aim for a more dramatic mood.
