Rush Hour present a digitally remastered rerelease of New York producer Ben Cenac’s classic album, Bang The Drums, originally released back in 1990. The only full-length that Cenac put out under his Push/Pull alias, Bang The Drums is a deep house masterpiece that draws heavily on African rhythms and instrumentation. Equally, Cenac took inspiration from other NY sounds and scenes of the time, eluding to hip house through the breakbeats of opener ‘Africa’ and New Jersey garage on the synths and xylophone of ‘Zanzibar’.
